Pavakka/Bitter Gourd Thoran

Ingredients:

Bitter gourd - 1
Onion - 1
Turmeric powder -1/4tsp
Green chilli - 2
Coconut oil - 1tbsp
Grated coconut - 1/2 cup
Mustard - 1/2tsp
Curry leaves
Salt

Method:

1. Chop the cleaned bitter gourd and onion.
2. In a pan heat oil and splutter mustard and curry leaves.
3. Add finely chopped bitter gourd , onion,turmeric powder,salt and green chillies.
4.sprinkle 2tbsp of water .cover and cook it on medium heat.
5. add grated coconut and mix well.
6.Serve with rice.

  5. I usually prepare pawaka fry but never prepared thoran. Very nice and interesting recipe. Looks wonderful and good for health.
